50 Jahre In­sti­tut für Stadt- und Re­gion­alpla­nung

To mark the 50th an­niver­sary of the In­sti­tute of Urban and Re­gional Plan­ning (ISR) at the Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­sity of Berlin, this pub­li­ca­tion takes a close look at the his­tory, pre­sent and fu­ture of the in­sti­tute. The book doc­u­ments mile­stones in the de­vel­op­ment of the ISR, in­tro­duces the key peo­ple and de­part­ments and re­flects on the chal­lenges and suc­cesses of the past five decades. The pub­li­ca­tion of­fers in­sights into the ISR’s re­search and teach­ing and shows how the in­sti­tute con­tributes to the sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment of urban and re­gional areas by in­te­grat­ing per­spec­tives from dif­fer­ent dis­ci­plines. In­ter­views with de­part­ment heads and con­tri­bu­tions from staff and stu­dents com­plete the com­plex pic­ture of the ISR.
